Welcome to The Bunkhouse at Glassie Bike Park (Glassie Farm).

We are totally rebuilding the website and should have a new site by the first week of July 2023.

NEWS; Weekend of Friday 21st and Saturday 22nd July is available to book in both The Bunkhouse units, we will take bookings from smaller groups on a £28pppn basis or whole units with exclusive use.

We have been running this independent, family-run bunkhouse on Glassie Farm at Aberfeldy since November 2004.

We have developed the site that now comprises of two well-equipped open plan units. These are perfectly set-up for self-catering or hiring in a caterer of your choice. The perfect location for stag and hen parties / large family gatherings and of course biking and walking clubs, as we are positioned at 1000ft and south facing, on the same farm as Glassie Bike Park (SC051276).

Biking from The Bunkhouse; Glassie Bike Park (SC051276)

We’ve helped to set up a charity on our land at Glassie Farm to ensure that biking can continue locally for years to come. Glassie Bike Park (SC051276) is now becoming a popular hub that aims to cater for a wide range of bikers with varying abilities, so we have plans to create separate areas for Non-Technical Skills, Technical Skills, Pump Track and Freeride Trails, along with a 3 lane Downhill Jumpline, all to develop riders confidence in the longterm.

We have put our own money in and developed a blue-rated bike track called Midge, this is at the back of The Bunkhouse in the wooded area and adjoining field which will eventually join into Blue View by a track along the edge of The Bunkhouse lawn.

There are gravel trail loops from here from 4.5km to well over the 30km length, all virtually off road as well, with stunninng scenery and views.

We’re encouraging community engagement to develop local tourism and get the area linked up better with bike routes for downhill mountain biking to road bike users and everything in between.

Walking from The Bunkhouse

We’ve added quite a few walking tracks around the farm to take advantage of the fantastic views of the valley overlooking Aberfeldy and the Tay River.

We're also working with the Upper Tay Paths Group to get core path walking routes signposted correctly and trying to fix drainage issues that affect the routes that are easily accessible from Aberfeldy up to The Bunkhouse. This main loop path is known as The Glassie Circular and goes straight past The Bunkhouse at its highest point, where you can also find refreshments of cold drinks and flapjacks / muffins at The Glassie Pit Stop. This is an honesty box scheme where all the profits go to the Glassie Bike Park project, you can even pay by a QR code if you dont have cash.

There are plenty of different walking options for all fitnesses of walker, so get out and take in the fresh air and see views from the strategically placed picnic benches as you have never viewed Aberfeldy before.
